This week, on January 12, 2025, we launched the "Empowering Voices: Strengthening Governance and Civic Engagement in Hebron," project at the Youth Development Resources Center (HYDRC) to promote community participation and good governance in Hebron Governorate.
The project, implemented in partnership with four community organizations and five local bodies in Hebron, aims to enhance community participation and good governance by involving different segments of society in political and civil processes. It also focuses on highlighting successful community behaviors and spreading them, in addition to using digital tools and media to increase engagement and participation.
During the session, Anas Sarabta, Programs Manager at HYDRC, provided a detailed explanation of the project’s goals and methodology. He emphasized the importance of using the positive model approach to spread successful behaviors and enhance community participation through digital tools and media.
Maha Halaika, the project coordinator, presented an overview of the project's goals, target groups, and future plans, which include community dialogue sessions, training, advocacy campaigns, and interactive activities aimed at increasing youth engagement with community organizations and local bodies.
Ashraf Zughir, a representative from the National Democratic Institute (NDI), highlighted the importance of supporting initiatives that strengthen democracy and empower marginalized groups.
The meeting was an important step toward building a more participatory and transparent community.
