Hebron Youth Development Resources Center (Hebron YDRC) has launched the “Integrated Child Protection & Education in Emergencies for Displaced & Conflict-Affected Children & Families” project in partnership with Terre des hommes – Switzerland (Tdh).
The project responds to the escalating impact of conflict and forced displacement on children and families in Palestine, including increased risks of violence, psychological distress, the breakdown of community protection systems, and disruption to education. It aims to provide a comprehensive response addressing the psychological, social, and educational needs of the most vulnerable groups through community-based interventions tailored to the humanitarian context.
The project seeks to strengthen the protection of children and families affected by conflict and displacement and ensure their access to protection services, psychosocial support, and education in emergencies within safe and supportive environments. It focuses on reducing protection risks, improving mental health and psychosocial well-being, supporting educational continuity, and strengthening community-based prevention and response mechanisms.
The project targets children aged 6–14, parents and caregivers, adolescents and youth, persons with disabilities, and families at risk, through an integrated package of interventions including psychosocial support, psychological first aid, case management, positive parenting, community awareness, and institutional and community capacity building.
Implementation is carried out in partnership with local institutions in the following West Bank locations:
The project is expected to contribute to improved mental health and well-being for children, reduced protection risks, increased community awareness of child rights and protection mechanisms, and strengthened local institutional capacity to respond to emergencies, ensuring safer and more dignified environments for children and vulnerable groups.
