Hebron YDRC – Palestinian Child’s Home Club celebrated the 30th anniversary of its establishment during an official ceremony attended by public officials, distinguished guests, representatives of partner institutions, private sector organizations, professional associations, former ministers, as well as volunteers, alumni, and individuals who began their journey at the club as children and today hold leadership and professional positions across various sectors.
The event also marked the launch of the “Our Home 2026” season, a three-month community development program featuring a diverse range of activities and events for children, youth, and families. The initiative reflects the center’s vision of strengthening community participation, empowering young people, and providing safe spaces for learning, creativity, and recreation.
The ceremony opened with a documentary showcasing the 30-year journey of Hebron YDRC, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and the success stories shaped through the thousands of children, young people, and volunteers who have been part of the organization and have gone on to serve their communities in a variety of capacities.
In his remarks, Mr. Kifah Al-Sharif, Chairman of the Board of the Palestinian Child’s Home Club, welcomed the attendees and emphasized that the celebration represents an important milestone honoring three decades of national, educational, and developmental work. Throughout this journey, the club has upheld a steadfast humanitarian and national mission dedicated to serving children and youth. He also paid tribute to the late founder and former Chairman, Hilmi Al-Qawasmi (“Abu Safwa”), recognizing his pivotal role in establishing the institution and embedding its enduring mission. He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to continuing this legacy in honor of those who laid its foundations and in dedication to future generations.
For his part, Eng. Omar Al-Dahman, Executive Director of Hebron YDRC, stated that the celebration not only documents the history of an institution but also honors thirty years of volunteerism, learning, and positive change. He explained that the center’s strategy is built around three core pillars: personal development, economic empowerment, and institutional development through continuous learning. He added that the launch of the “Our Home 2026” season serves as an open invitation to all members of the organization’s extended community—including volunteers, alumni, partners, and families—to come together in creating a season that unites the community under one roof while strengthening the values of belonging and collective action.
Mr. Safwat Al-Qawasmeh, a member of the Administrative Board, commended the tremendous efforts invested in delivering the season despite the challenges and circumstances. He expressed his appreciation to the volunteers, staff, sponsoring companies, and partner institutions for their valuable support, emphasizing that community partnership has always been—and continues to be—one of the organization’s greatest strengths and a cornerstone of its sustainability.
Hebron Mayor Eng. Yousef Al-Jaabari congratulated the management of the club and the center on the occasion of their 30th anniversary, noting that the Palestinian Child’s Home Club has, over the past three decades, become a respected youth, cultural, and sports institution of which the people of Hebron Governorate are proud. He also expressed his appreciation for the municipality’s partnership with the center in organizing a number of initiatives benefiting children and young people.
Brig. Taysir Al-Fakhouri, Deputy Governor of Hebron, conveyed the greetings of the Hebron Governorate, affirming that the Palestinian people's greatest investment is in its people, and that institutions dedicated to human development and empowerment constitute a fundamental pillar of the national development process.
The celebration also featured a documentary photo exhibition that took attendees on a visual journey through three decades of Hebron YDRC and the Palestinian Child’s Home Club. The exhibition showcased the institution’s most significant programs, activities, and initiatives, alongside photographs documenting the stories of children, youth, volunteers, and alumni who have shaped its journey, evoking the organization’s enduring legacy and mission of serving the community.
The “Our Home 2026” season offers a comprehensive three-month program featuring recreational activities for children and families, sports competitions and tournaments, educational and developmental workshops, cultural and artistic events, science and digital activities, a summer camp, community and heritage initiatives, a medical week and health awareness activities, a media production and photography hackathon, a youth conference, and a closing celebration bringing together participants and partners.
Hebron YDRC affirmed that the “Our Home” season is far more than a calendar of events; it is a community platform designed to bring joy to children, strengthen family cohesion, empower young people, and foster hope through active participation and volunteerism. The initiative reflects the organization’s belief that a community committed to learning and collaboration is best equipped to remain resilient and build a stronger future.
