Digital Content Productions

These productions are created by the participants of the Digital Content Program, one of the innovative interventions under the Positive Youth Engagement (PYE) Program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Mercy Corps in partnership with the Hebron Youth Development Resource Center (HYDRC) and safe spaces across the southern West Bank.

The Digital Content Program was developed to replace the "Solutions Journalism" component, keeping pace with modern trends in empowering youth to produce meaningful content that addresses their community issues, while also enhancing their critical thinking and creativity through digital media tools.

Program Goals:

  • Empower young people to develop skills in creative digital content production (text, audio, video, and campaigns).
  • Support critical thinking and fact-checking skills.
  • Use digital media as a tool for community advocacy and awareness.
  • Strengthen the role of youth as content creators, not just consumers.
  • Provide spaces for youth to share success stories and challenges from their own perspectives.

Over 15 specialized training workshops were delivered, covering topics from journalism basics and solutions journalism to digital campaigns, podcast production, and awareness video creation. More than 100 participants benefited from these trainings, held in three safe spaces: Hebron YDRC, Sawaaid Youth Forum, and Al-Shuyoukh Sports Club.

The workshops included:

  • Media production using simple tools (smartphones and free editing apps).
  • Storytelling and local podcast production.
  • Awareness on misinformation and digital fact-checking skills.
  • Social media publishing and campaign planning.

These productions reflect the creativity, skills, and voices of the participating youth, highlighting their journey through the Digital Content Program.
